Descendants of Richard have speculated that Phoebe Pyburn and Jeptha Turvin are his parents, however, Richard was a friendly Creek, so the only way this would be possible is if Jeptha Turvin was the son of John or Richard Turvin and a Creek woman. This is a possible parentage only, the genealogy from Richard on is verified...
Descendants of Phoebe Pyburn
Generation No. 1
1. PHOEBE2 PYBURN (JACOB1) was born Abt. 1780, and died Unknown. She married JEPTHA TURVIN Abt. 1793, son of UNKNOWN TARVIN. He was born Abt. 1777, and died Unknown.
Notes for PHOEBE PYBURN:
Tentative, she is listed as Phoebe or Parobi Pyburn Turvin on multiple documents,
In 1821 Spanish census, as a widow, no children, living with Mary Pyburn and her husband.

I have several copies of documents purtaining to Phoebe Pyburn's land grant.
One is from the Bureau of State Land's Office, Spanish Land grants Volume 5,pg 177 Confirmed Claims s-z
she is found under
Turvin, Phoebe Pyburn
In this text her name is listed also as Parobi (Phoebe?) P.Turvin
certificate number 39 was issued September 30, 1831
This land grant is for 1,354.54 acres.
Another document copy I have is from the District Court of the United States for the Northern District of Florida.
The United states of America vs. 1076.95 acres of land in Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties, Florida,Real Estate Securities
Company, et als, Defendants.
This copy lists Parodi and Company, a partnership; Shaw Turpentime Company, a corporation.
Then unknown spouses, heirs etc with these names listed:
Ates, Thomas {found 1870}
Collins, W.D.J. {found tax list 1867 Conecuh}
Faulk, Levin
McDavid, David A {early census, 1840 neighbor of Jacob Pyburn}.
Saunders, J.R.
Senterfeit, Stephen {found on early census}
Tervin, Elijah {found in census}
Turvin, Elijah {found in census}
IN 1858 Elijah Turvin sold to thomas Ates land in Santa Rosa County
The heirs of W.D.J. Collins, deceased are listed. This list includes these last names:
Beck, Brake, Collins, Cooley, Crosson, Enzor, Givens, Goff (Gaff), McRaney, Poore,
Sullivan, Thorp, Walker, and Wood in the State of Florida.
there are many more names as heirs but I don't know how long of a post I should put.
Let me know if you are interested in any more of this type of information.
Thanks!
WDJ Collins born in SC or NC 1816-1820
David McDavid borm 1809 Fl wife Martha born 1812 Al, daughter Antoinete
Thomas Ates born 1832 Alabama (?can't find in 1850)
Levin Falk, born 1808, South Carolina
? John R. Saunders born 1794 Alachua Co. 1850
Possibly the Phoebe in land documents married to Jeptha {Jesse?} Turvin/Tarvin land issued near Pensacola, with brother Santiago {per message board}. Tarvin/Turvin family known to be nearby the rest of the Pyburn's in Alabama, no record of a Jeptha found.
American state papers, Vol 4 source {available from Florida historical society website} Phebe Pyburn Turvin, land head of Indian cr. dated 1825 Section 21, range n 30SW, 1354 acres, the other possibility is that Phebe was the mother of Jacob Pyburn {married Diadema Stapleton} who is in 1830 census, no Tarvin's or Turvin's appear in the area of Florida in 1830, though land wasn't finalized until 1831. Another Possibility is she is the widow of Benjamin Pyburn.
1821 Tax list J. A. McDavid
Notes for JEPTHA TURVIN:
A researcher who published spanish transcription has name Jeptha as Jesse for other's in the Tensaw area and surrounding areas.
Most likely a relative of William or Richard Turvin of Tensaw. Except, no known son of William by this name, and Richard had no children in 1889, since Richard Turvin the son of Jeptha is born 1793-1795, it is likely his father was born ca 1773 or before, and his mother would have been born no later than 1780.
Child of PHOEBE PYBURN and JEPTHA TURVIN is:
2.
i.
RICHARD3 TURVIN, b. Bet. 1793 - 1795, Al or fl; d. Bet. 1870 - 1880.

2. RICHARD3 TURVIN (PHOEBE2 PYBURN, JACOB1) was born Bet. 1793 - 1795 in Al or fl, and died Bet. 1870 - 1880. He married ELIZABETH UNKNOWN. She was born Abt. 1795 in Alabama, and died Aft. 1860.
Notes for RICHARD TURVIN:
Richard Turvin is NOT proven a son of Jeptha and Phoebe,
some descendants claim she is their mother,but we do know that Richard is a friendly Creek, and since Phoebe isn't a Creek indian, unless Jeptha is, it is Likely that Richard is a son of John Turvin or Richard Turvin.
Not Probable
1810 Baldwin County census 1,1,2 7 slaves ???? Richard Turvin, this would have to be the elder Richard, who lived in Tensaw in 1789...he would be about 53.. our Richard is about 15
1830 Monroe County Alabama.. too old...2 males 40-50 and household
Possible
1840 Macon County, Albama...male 30-40 (right age), two son's under 5, one 5-10, one female 5-10, wife is 20-30
Known
1850 Walton County, listed as born in Georgia, with wife , next door neighbor is Jesse Seniterfiet.
Also listed is a David Turvin, born GA, age 33, and a George (wife is the Sarah who's the widow later), age 30, born GA, could easily be his son's
