3/25/08 Redesigned a few pages, updated several, and removed the Folsom and Michael Leflore data for now, until I can update it. Added a blog to the main page, and added the Tensaw Poarch Band genealogies.
12/6/07 Added several pages to Choctaw sites. Many of the family pages have new information
4/3/06 Added and updated several family lines. Check pages for more information.
2/22/03 Several pages added, to the Choctaw area. All pages have a new look, many have new or revised content. For ease of understanding, families with known, highly suspected, or strong oral tradition of native ancestry have a native background, those who don't do not. Many pages are beginning to contain information on the families and individuals. Banners have been made for each main area, and the Choctaw and Cherokee Proud Family Association. As for research I am organizing and verifying Dawes information on many of the families.
2/14/03 Updated family pages with newest lineages. Changed site navigation to include a page on my family tree with links and a surname page. Added pages on the Choctaw Academy, Iska system, and Slaveholders of 1860 in Skullyville County all can be accessed from the Choctaw Pages. Added a few more family pages.
5/28/02 The site won it's first award! Additional names added, and deleting of old links. Still have many more individuals to add to the tree. Added discussions on individuals and families to most pages. Album page has copies of documents in jpg form and family photos. Look for more on the Bakers, Rogers, Campbells (Hardy Line) Folsoms and more soon.
5/22/02 I added a page discussing the relationships among Choctaw families and my own. The page is found under the link Kissn Cousin on the menu bar.
5/17/02 I added pages on the Leflores, Folsoms, Brashears, Juzan's, Pushmataha, Shomaka, Brunson's, Copelands, Becks, and Eilands, and updated every family page. Ther Roger information isn't everything I have just yet. Search Engine added. New Guestbook page, with a webpoll. The submission page is now functioning. All pages are linked for easier access. The Choctaw families can be reached from the Mississippi page on the homepage menu. The links page has not been redone yet.
4/26/2002 I am about 25% done updating the site. Just as I seem to get started, I seem to get some more information. I decided however, to update with everything I have, (it is a major project), then update each family as I get additional information. Be patient, I don't expect it to take too long, but I am trying to divide my time equally to both the site and research. Much information has been found, and will soon be on the site. Additionally, I am hot on the trail with some more theories and leads. Look for the information soon. Jennifer

Welcome! For those of you who have been frequent site visitors, I have a lot of new information that has yet to be added to the site. My grandmother, Dolores Barbara Hinds, Mieirs, passed away on December 5, 2000. The last few months of her life, I was so busy taking care of her, that I have neglected this site, and my research. I have lots of exciting news to add to the pages, but that takes time, so I am going to post information to this page as it becomes available, and will update the family pages as I have time. Also, I plan on bringing some new features and looks, so come back often, you may be surprised about the changes! The latest information on John Lunsford Barnes, has a new lead, that just may enable us to further trace his parentage. My Aunt's Leahmanda and Patricia Barnes are working on this at present, and I will post the new information as soon as it is confirmed. I have found several researchers on Rachael Copeland, and now have the information on her parents and siblings. Look for information on the family page, and links to this information soon.
I also have the first name for Barnett Franklin, seems that like others, he went by his middle name. I have received multiple emails from distant cousins, some farther up the tree than others, and would love to have more. Unfortunately, I also receive alot of requests about families included in my tree, that I am not researching. If you have information on the descendants of one of the folks in my tree, and would like to share that information, please email me. I include as much information as I can, in the hopes it may help someone who is looking for that needle in the haystack, but am not actively researching many of the siblings of my ancestors. Among the "cousins" I have corresponded with, I have found several Rogers researchers, who have confirmed that they were in fact Cherokee. One researcher has in his possession, copies of denied applications for many of the descendants of Henry Rogers. It seems that Joseph Rogers died prior to the date listed on the site, and that his widow remarried. Little information can be found on either Joseph or Susie Rogers, but there are several of us looking for clues. Stay tuned for updates. Thanks to a kind researcher in New York, I now have a written copy of the obituaries of Emma Paxton Hinds, and Sarah Brampton Timmins. The obituary for Emma Paxton Hinds, includes the names of her siblings, and a reference that confirms my suspicions that this is the same Emma Paxton Hinds, listed in the Hinds Genealogy published in 1899, which for some reason stated they had no children (not true.) I know now what county they came from in New York, and have found them in the 1880 census in Dekalb county, Illinois. The obituary for Sarah Brampton Timmins, lists the name of her father, and through a search of LDS and another site, I have a few leads, unfortunately, since this search is in England, I may have a harder time in finding any results. I have also found a reference to a civil war pension for Francis Hinds, to his widow Emma in New York, which puts his death about ten years earlier than I had previously suspected.
I visited with Fairy Trahern last week, she is in a nursing home, and unfortunately suffers from Alzheimer's, so she is not able to share any family history. However, it was very exciting for me to meet the first cousin of my great grandmother. Her neice, Tabitha Imes, has given me some additional information that will be updated on the site soon on her grandfather William Trahern. ( I know, another one, this one is the son of Robert Trahern.) I am in California for a while, and plan on doing some research in Stockton, on George Washington Trahern, who was one of the first settlers in the area. George Washington Trahern was the son of Wesley Trahern and Delilah Brashears.
I hope you enjoy your visit to the site.
