Descendants of Jesse Beck
Jesse Beck, is likely related to the other Beck's from South Carolina who arrive in Alabama in the same time period. His is one of the hardest family I have traced in Alabama. His descendants end up marrying into the Scots Irish settlement families of Santa Rosa County, Florida.

Notes for ALFRED BECK:
From Winston Lowery's website
A descendant of Alfred's, a Winston BECK, married a Martha
SEABROOK (who is
buried in her family's plot in Milton Cemetery, Santa Rosa,
FL.) Martha and
Winston later split up, and Martha went north and took up with
(or possibly
married) another man.
She and this man committed a series of murders known as the
"Lonely Hearts
Murders" across the eastern US, and Martha was executed in NY
for the crimes.
It isn't currently known whether her partner in crime was also
caught,
convicted, or executed.
According to the Pensacola BECKS, this story was often
rehashed in the local FL
papers, since the BECKS were long-time residents of this area.
Many BECK family
members were irate at the negative publicity and indignant at
the notoriety
because, as Irene FAULK explained it, "She wasn't even a Beck,
she just
MARRIED one."

RICHARD MORGAN HATED BLACKS AND IT WAS GENERALLY KNOWN THAT HE HAD KILLED SEVERAL, WHO HE FELT HAD CROSSED HIM IN SOME WAY. nOTHING WAS PROVED AND HE WAS NEVER CAUGHT, BUT HE APPARENTLY MADE NO SECRET OF THE FACT. EVENTUALLY HE WAS SHOT TO DEATH WHILE HE WAS OUT PLOWING HIS FIELD. FIELD HANDS WHO WITNESSED THE KILLING DENIED SEEING ANYONE WITH A GUN, AND CLAIMED THAT THE SHOTS HAD COME FROM THE NEARBY WOODS. HOWEVER,THOSE WHO KNEW MORGAN BELIEVED THAT HE WAS KILLED BY A VENGEFUL RELATIVE OF ONE OF HIS VICTIMS, AND THAT SOME OF THE WITNESSES MAY HAVE ACTUALLY KNOWN MORE THAN THEY ADMITTED.

Killed by a streetcar.
not found in 1910
NOTE: Marjorie's father McCurdy was killed while attempting to change the direction of the horse-drawn trolley in Pensacola, Florida about c. 1916. Sometime nearby her mother also died, leaving her an orphan.
Per DM McCurdy he was swinging from row to row collecting fares and run over by the trolley.
Dick McCurdy's gedcom puts his birth in Conecuh county, AL
per email from Dick McCurdy regarding his death:
"Their father was killed in a trolley accident as he was swinging from row to row collecting fares. He was run over by the trolley months before my father's birth..."
His recent gedcom puts the death date as 18 Sep 1912.
More About WILLIAM HENRY MCCURDY:
Census: 1900, Esc. Co, Fl, p 323a, prec 15
Occupation: 01 Sep 1912, Conductor of horse-drawn trolley (method of demise).
Notes for HARRIET MARGERY SWIFT:
from email from Dick McCurdy of 7 May 2000:
"Their mother, Ella Swift Stoeckinger McCurdy, died when my father was 3 and all three children were raised by two aunts Harriet Swift and Agnes Whitson (I remember her well.)"
Death date as 3 Feb 1916 per Dick.
The four sisters purchased a large farm that was about the size of a city block and divided it into 4 parcels. Ella, Kate & Agnes built homes and Harriet's piece was used for general farmland, since she lived near the city with her husband. The brother did not join the venture and built his own home closer to town.
More About HARRIET MARGERY SWIFT:
Census: 1920, Escambia County, FL
Children of WILLIAM MCCURDY and HARRIET SWIFT are:

MARJORIE SWIFT4 MCCURDY, b. 05 Jan 1910, Pensacola, Escambia, FL, USA; d. 26 Apr 1965, Sepulveda, Los Angeles, CA, USA; m. WARREN CANDLER GRAY, 20 Jun 1926, Pensacola, Escambia, FL, USA; b. 17 Jul 1902, Cairo, Grady (then Thomas), GA, USA; d. 14 Feb 1976, Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, USA.
Notes for MARJORIE SWIFT MCCURDY:
NOTE: After Marjorie's parents died, she was taken in by her aunt, E.S. Swift presumably. This is the aunt in her wedding announcement article from the paper, and it assumed to be the same person as the one who raised her.
According to DM McCurdy one of the children was reared by Harriet Swift and the other by Agnes Whitson, so William Henry and Marjorie were raised apart, and I'm not sure where George Stoeckinger was raised or if he was grown at the time.
1920, living with aunt, Agnes Whitson,
